In 2012, Kuechly was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the first round of the NFL Draft. He quickly made an impact in his rookie season, leading the league in tackles and winning the Associated Press NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award. Kuechly's exceptional play continued in the following seasons, earning him multiple honors, including the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 2013.
