Will Anderson Jr., born on September 2, 2001, in Hampton, Georgia, was a dynamic defensive end at the University of Alabama and is now a member of the Houston Texans in the NFL. Known for his exceptional skills and impact on the field, Anderson had an outstanding college career, earning numerous awards, including the prestigious Lombardi Award in 2022. He was also a two-time winner of the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and was named a unanimous All-American. Anderson played a vital role in Alabama's national championship victory in 2020. In the 2023 NFL Draft, Anderson was selected third overall by the Houston Texans, who traded up to acquire him.

Anderson's football journey began at Dutchtown High School in Hampton, Georgia, where he excelled as a pass rusher, recording 22 sacks and 15 tackles for loss during his senior year in 2019. His impressive performance earned him a spot on The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's "Super 11" team and a place in the prestigious 2020 All-American Bowl. Anderson committed to playing college football at the University of Alabama, a program renowned for its success.

During his college career at Alabama, Anderson quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with on the defensive side of the ball. As a freshman in 2020, he became a starter at outside linebacker and contributed seven sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss as the Crimson Tide captured the College Football Playoff National Championship. In his sophomore season in 2021, Anderson's dominance continued, as he recorded 17.5 sacks and 34.5 tackles for loss, leading the nation in both categories. He was honored with the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year, and earned unanimous All-American recognition. Anderson finished fifth in Heisman Trophy voting, a remarkable achievement for a defensive player.

In the 2023 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans recognized Anderson's immense talent and selected him with the third overall pick. After drafting Ohio State quarterback C. J. Stroud with the previous pick, the team traded up to secure his services. As Anderson transitions to the professional level, he brings with him a versatile skill set and a track record of success. He played in various defensive alignments at Alabama, including standing up and playing with his hand in the dirt. The Texans plan to utilize Anderson primarily as an edge defender, a role he is familiar with and excelled in during his college career.

Off the field, Anderson's versatility extends beyond football. His experience playing multiple positions at Alabama demonstrates his adaptability and well-roundedness as an athlete.
