Orlando Pace, born on November 4, 1975, in Sandusky, Ohio, was an exceptional offensive tackle at Ohio State University and throughout his illustrious professional football career. Pace's journey began at Sandusky High School, where he displayed his talents as a Parade All-American and a two-time All-Ohio selection in football. In addition to his accomplishments on the gridiron, Pace participated in basketball and baseball during high school.

Pace's path led him to Ohio State University, where he majored in business and played for the Buckeyes from 1994 to 1996. As a three-year starter at left tackle, his dominance on the field earned him unanimous All-American honors in both 1995 and 1996. Notably, in 1996, Pace received the prestigious Outland Trophy, recognizing him as the best interior lineman in college football. He also made history by winning the Lombardi Award twice, becoming the only offensive lineman to achieve such an honor.

 

In the 1997 NFL Draft, Pace was chosen as the first overall pick by the St. Louis Rams, solidifying his place in professional football. Throughout his remarkable 12-year tenure with the Rams, he earned seven Pro Bowl selections and established himself as a core member of the renowned "Greatest Show on Turf" teams. His contributions were vital to the Rams' victory in Super Bowl XXXIV in 1999.

In 2016, Pace's outstanding career was recognized when he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
